Outgoing SMTP Filtering
Reason for Implementation: Outbound spam disrupts the core business of any service provider
Date Implemented: 05 March 2010
1.How does this benefit me?
We will be able to quickly isolate and notify any users who have been infected with Spam Bots and Virus"s. This will ensure minimum network degradation, while we service the unaffected customers via our alternative SMTP servers
2. What happened that we had to implement this feature?
As stated above customers PCs who were affected by Spam Bot"s and Virus"s,basically sent out random emails to random recipients. This caused our entire range of IP Addresses to be blocked by a SPAM Listing Server if used by any ISPs RBL Listings. Blocking legitimate customer traffic caused a huge amount of customer dissatisfaction. We since had to consider implementing a solution which was reliable, efficient and friendly.
3. Will there be service interruptions during the implementation of this new feature?
No, the planned change will be transparent to users and will not impact the delivery of normal email. The scan will be performed in real time, any infected email will be instantly blocked and reported.
4. What real benefits exist to having this feature?

Blocks any type of attack - Whether it is spam, malware or phishing, will block it in real-time.
Blocks any type of attacker - zombie computers, compromised accounts, spammer accounts and webmail spam.
